| Not all the possible songs from
“Songs of the Kingdom” are available immediately. The process of adding
new songs does take considerable time, and others will be added soon. For those who may wish
to purchase the Noteworthy Composer application, you are invited to
submit NWC files of songs you wish to contribute.
Just adhere to the
guidelines below and send your contributed files by email
(see the "Contact Us" link). The guidelines are simply to provide some unitformity to the available songs and to
minimize the additional work needed to add then to the site.
For those who simply wish
to request a specific song be given a higher priority to be added, feel
free to submit a request. If
you have songs you wish to have added that are not part of
“Songs of the Kingdom”, those will be considered
for inclusion in a separate group. (Notice the new directory
for contributing artists!) The more people who
contribute songs, the faster the song library will grow!
Guidelines - Use the SATB-Parts template.
It presets many of the settings.
- Set
all parts to Instrument: Rhodes Piano. Due to differences in
sound cards this setting provides the best overall performance and gives
the purest tone for voices to match.
- Set midi
volume between 80 and 100 unless using dynamic expressions in the score.
In that case set the midi part volume to max (127).
- Set Soprano and Tenor note stems, slurs, and ties upward.
- Set Alto and Bass note stems, slurs, and ties downward.
- Keep the four parts separate. Do not layer soprano
with alto, or tenor with bass.
- Include the song
and author information. Include pertinent copyright
information if you are the author, including permission to use on this
web site.
- Simpler songs can share a single copy
of lyrics (associated with the Alto part). More complex songs should
keeps lyrics separate for each part. This may necessitate
including only the first verse so the vertical screen space does not
become too big.
- Abide by copyright law.
I can not accept songs compsed, arranged or adapted since about 1923
without proof of authorization from the copyright holder. If
that is you, then include your permission in the author information.
- If submitting songs from "Songs of the Kingdom", make sure
the arrangement is really the one from there and not from another
source. Just because you got a song by the same name as one
in our song bookdoes not mean it is exactly the same if you got it from
a different source . Also, be sure to include the
song numberfrom the book in the filename, at the end.
-
If you are submitting an original song, or one that is from a source
most people are not likely to have, then try to also submit a high
quality PDF copy of the score. This can be included on the
download page for people to use. This would be especially important if you did not include all
the lyric verses in the NoteWorthy file.
